At our foundation, we always prioritize the well-being of children. In Ghana, where the Omenaa Foundation operates the Kids Haven School, there is a particularly great deal of work being done for them. Why? Despite significant progress in recent years, access to high-quality education remains a challenge for many minors. The shortage of teachers, poor school infrastructure, lack of educational materials, and limited access to schools in some areas, especially rural ones, are all issues.
Additionally, due to the lack of access to basic healthcare, children in Ghana suffer from various health problems, including infectious diseases (such as malaria, cholera, and tuberculosis). Another major issue is the lack of clean drinking water and proper sanitation facilities.
Despite the introduction of laws aimed at combating child labor, the exploitation of children in various sectors, especially in agriculture, mining, trade, and domestic services, still persists. Child labor exposes them to various risks, including loss of education, exploitation, physical injuries, and social exclusion.
At our Kids Haven School, we strive every day to make the world a better place! Damian Kurpiewski, a representative of our foundation, resides there, taking care of the daily needs of the children. Among his tasks are ensuring their safety, access to education, and healthy nutrition. In addition to that, he develops the JLabs Kids Academy room (computer room) in cooperation with JLabs company and a sports area, financed by our long-time partner, E.Wedel. However, above all, Damian makes sure to spend valuable time with the kids, nurturing their physical and psychological development in warm, supportive conditions. Check out the photos!
