The documentary „When the Harmattan Blows”, directed by Edyta Wróblewska, received the Grand Prix award at the “Man in Danger” Media Festival in Łódź. The film was co-produced by OmiProductions and the Omenaa Foundation.

When the Harmattan Blows tells the story of children struggling with slavery. The International Labour Organization estimates that around 1.2 million children fall victim to human trafficking each year.

The film follows the life of 25-year-old Barbara, a resident of Accra, the capital of Ghana. At the age of eight, she shared the fate of thousands of children sent into slave labor by their own parents. Despite the painful emotions, Barbara supports her relatives. A visit to her parents becomes an opportunity to confront her traumatic past.

For 10 years, the Omenaa Foundation has been fighting for a better future for children in Ghana. The Kids Haven School, a school for street children, was established specifically for them.
