Interview with the charges of Kids Haven School

On Thursday afternoon we met with Kids Haven School students Desmond and Gilbert to talk to them about our school, their interests and passions, and their plans for the future.

Hi, guys. Today we're going to talk about Kids Haven School, your interests and future plans. Are you guys ready to go!

Gilbert - Yes.

Desmond - Yes.

What is your opinion about our school, Kids Haven School? Do you think this place is important for you and other children studying at the facility?

Desmond - Kids Haven School is important to us because the teachers teach us how to be charitable, how to share and support others on a daily basis. It's a great place for me and my friends.

Gilbert - I feel very comfortable in this place. The students are nice and the teachers take care of us. I enjoy my stay here because we play different games and learn many new things. Together with other children, we feel comfortable and safe at school.

Do you have your favorite subject of school? Is there something you particularly enjoy learning?

Desmond - My favorite subject is math. I think math refines the mind and makes you think faster and do better on a daily basis. For example, when you go to buy something and you don't know how much it costs, the salesman may take your money and give you nothing back. That's why I love math and want to learn as much as possible.

Gilbert - My favorite subject is also mathematics, which I enjoy learning. I feel relaxed and focused when I solve mathematical tasks.

Do you have any special memories associated with our school?

Desmond - We feel very comfortable at our school. We look forward to Fridays, which turn into a movie night in the evenings. We spend time together watching interesting movies. We also like to spend time together on excursions, and we are happy when we can get to know Ghana a little better.

Gilbert - Fridays are exciting for me, too, because we spend time together and watch movies in the evening. I like to participate in various activities and excursions, while the coolest place for me is actually Kids Haven School.

Desmond - For me too. I get very excited and enthusiastic when we are on trips, but no place is as cool as our school.

We are currently building the Kids Haven Sport & Art Complex next to the school. Are you excited that in 18 months you will be able to train, learn, but also spend leisure time in our facilities? 

Desmond - When you build this sports complex, we will play soccer or basketball, among others, and learn other sports. This will make us strong and develop our skills.

Gilbert - When we build this complex together, we will play soccer, basketball, or volleyball. We will be happy then. I know that for helping Ghanaians, God will bless you and give you a long life.

Do you have your favorite sport? The sport you play most often?

Desmond and Gilbert - Soccer!

Desmond - We both really enjoy coaching soccer and watching it. I support Liverpool and am happy when my team wins.

Gilbert - I am a Real Madrid fan. I am happy when we watch UEFA Champions League matches in the evenings, we can then experience really unforgettable emotions.

What is your first thought when someone mentions Omenaa Foundation?

Gilbert - When we talk about the foundation, I take it seriously. I'm grateful for what I experience because of it.

Desmond - The foundation is very important to me because it takes care of me and other children at school. Thanks to it, we can learn. In the future I would like to become a police officer and protect the school and my family from danger. I want to protect Ghana and other places. I want to fight bad people and take care of peace in Ghana.
