A star for the boys from Kiernozia

A gift worth PLN 1.7 million from Omena Mensah and Rafał Brzoska for the boys from Kiernozia!

The day spent with the pupils of the Youth Sociotherapy Center in Kiernozia has become an unwritten Christmas tradition for Omena Mensah and Rafal Brzoska. The Christmas meeting at the RiO Center began with the preparation of beautiful baubles, which were then hung on the Christmas tree they dressed together. At the Christmas table, the kids not only had the opportunity to share their thoughts on their plans for the future, but also to talk to special guests. Men: actors and athletes who can be role models for them. Personal stories were shared with the young people by: the host of the meeting Grzegorz "Gabor" Jedrzejewski (footballer), Maciej Kawulski (director, organizer of KSW galas), Jakub Wesołowski (actor), Łukasz "Juras" Jurkowski (sports journalist, mixed martial arts fighter), Alan Andersz (actor), as well as Rafał Maserak (dancer), Krzysztof "Diablo" Włodarczyk and Gustaw Wiśniewski (Lamborghini Super Trofeo driver).  

– I love these meetings! The moments spent together, the conversations, the personal confessions. It was a magical time for all of us. Add to that the moving stories of inspiring guests—men who have proven time and again that you can come out unscathed from any failure in life and who have shown the boys that the past, sometimes very difficult, can become the foundation of a strong character," says Omenaa Mensah.  

That afternoon, the boys from Kiernozia also took part in expressive drawing and painting workshops led by artist Dominik Jan Gralak, during which they created their own "Sign of Power." Not only did they learn about different painting techniques, but they also discovered the power of artistic expression. 

Time, interest in the problems they face, and kind words. That is the most beautiful gift that we and our guests could give to these wonderful boys. I am glad that in the spring we will open a sports complex in Kiernozia, where they will be able to box, play soccer, and find a place for their other passions. I believe that the energy that is bubbling up in them today will be transformed into their future successes,” adds Rafał Brzoska.  

The event culminated in the presentation of gifts funded by our partners. Straight from the RiO Center, the group went to visit the Legia Training Center, and from there to the Copernicus Science Center. 

This Christmas event is not the last meeting between Omena Mensah and Rafał Brzoska with the boys from Kiernozia. The philanthropic couple is preparing a unique gift that will benefit all 80 pupils – the opening of a sports and arts complex and an outdoor gym, where young people will be able to develop their talents in addition to participating in sports activities. The ambassadors of the center include Kuba Błaszczykowski, Krzysztof "Diablo" Włodarczyk, and Jakub Wesołowski. Dorota Szelągowska and designers and architects collaborating with the foundations of Omena Mensah and Rafał Brzoska will also work on the project.

 "In your dreams, it's worth sitting back and feeling that you deserve that dream," said Maciej Kawulski. 
"When you wake up angry at the whole world, find a way to help you release those negative emotions. It's worth focusing on sports and regular training, which are great for clearing your head," added Jakub Wesołowski.
"Each of us is valuable and life is wide open to all of us. Let's not convince ourselves that we can't do something or that we're not good enough. I used to feel that way too. I didn't give in to those thoughts, I worked hard, and now I am where I am," admitted Rafał Maserak.
